Who is your targeted audience?
Traditionallywe have catered to small businesses
and web developers in Canada. Since 2000 we have offered very competitive
reseller programs in addition to our referral incentives.
Where do you see your company two years from now?
We have established a great reputation in
Eastern Canada and in the past two years have branched out to the west
coast. Our competitive rates have garnered us clients from all around
the globe but we have never directly targeted them. In the coming years
we plan to target the broader North American market including the US.
In addition, we plan to expand our offering to include dedicated servers
as well as virtual private servers.
What significant changes have you seen in the web hosting marketplace over the last 12 months?
Many new entrants offering hosting services
has resultedinan ultra competitive environment. We think this is a good
thing not only for the customer but also for us since we offer an excellent
value proposition and have the experience needed to provide a higher level
of service to our customers. The real winner is the customer who benefits
from increased service levels and discounted prices.
How did you come to choose your company name?
It really came out of the nature of what we
do. We realized early on that customers wanted new and better technology
as it becomes available. As a result the concept of DynamicHosting.biz
was born. We are a hosting company that caters to a wide audience that
required a dynamic array of plans. We continue with the same philosophy
today by offering value added services such as spam protection, anti-virus
protection, and leading edge server hardware.
What advice do you have for someone who is just starting a hosting company?
Find a niche, whether it be geographic or
a certain focus for what you can best offer value to your customers. Without
focus it will be next to impossible for you to see significant growth.
We focus on providing the customer with everything they need to feel comfortable
with what is most often new ground for them. Being responsive to your
customers is a very common sentiment these days but if you can really
provide it to them it pays offinthe long run. If you are always there
to answer their questions either online or via a toll free support line
they appreciate it and tell other people about you.
In the next five years, where do you see the web hosting industry taking us?
Almost certainly there will be a great deal
of consolidationinthe hosting industry over the next few years. The
firms that are good at providing hosting are able to generate the capital
required to buy the firms that aren't as good at what they do.
How do you walk the fine line between growing to meet the anticipated needs of new customers and growing too quickly?
We have always used our customers as our touchstone
in this respect. We are continually requesting that they honestly evaluate
us for good or bad on third party sites like ratemyhost.com. This is a
key component that enables us to know how our customers perceive the quality
of our service. Like any business that wants to stay in business, we want
to grow and we realize that without this crucial feedback loop, we risk
loosing touch with our customers needs.

What are your company's three key success factors?
Our reputation. This ties in with the ratings
we have on various third party sites. It's basically a result of our hard
work and commitment to total customer satisfaction.

How has your company kept up with changing technology?
For us it's pretty easy. We are techies at
heart and see the new trends unfolding as they emerge. We find the most

know that if we don't continually improve our offer we will loose customers
because we attract customers from our competitors for this very reason.
How are your services and pricing levels
better than those of your competitors?
The reason we are able to offer comparable
services at a lower rate than our competitors is two fold. The first is
that we are an established hosting provider. We've been offering hosting
services since 1999 and as a result have a solid customer base and a great
deal of supporting infrastructure and knowledge in this area. The second
is that we operate out of Canada. This means our customers benefit from
the lower Canadian dollar.

In many cases it seems that hosting providers
are virtual companies that are often operated by ambitious young folks
who believe they will get rich quick. We are different because the three
founding partners are all university graduates who decided to go into
the hosting industry because of our love for all things techie. We started
out offering services to friends and family and we still think of all
of our customers like that today.

What do your lower price point hosting solutions include and at what price?
We have a no frills loss leader for only $1
a month (and thats a Canadian dollar). For some people that's all they
really need so we give it to them at a fair price. Of course it's not
an ideal plan for everyone so we have other plans as well. The next noteworthy
plan we offer includes 24/7 toll free phone, live chat and email support
for only $6.95/mo.

We use EasyAdmin for our UNIX customers and
Plesk for Windows. Both come with robust reporting and administration
tools.
Connectivity & Data Center Specs
Describe your back-up and emergency power systems.
We currently use two data centers. Each center
is staffed 24 x 7 with highly trained, experienced support engineers.
We furnish dual power availability to each rack unit from independent
power distribution units (PDUs), removing PDU loss as a single point of
failure. To ensure stable connectivity, we provide a redundant Need+1
(N+1) design of uninterruptible power supplies utilizing two separate
commercial power feeds from two separate power grids to provide power
to the center. Five redundant standby generators guarantee consistent
operationinthe event of a power failure from commercial power. These
generators are equipped with 72 hours of diesel fuel on site, and two
contractors are on call to refuel to the storage tanks.
Our world-class facilities feature seismically braced racks and are designed
to withstand disastrous conditions, ensuring that your systems and equipment
continue to run even under extreme conditions. A second point of presence
is always available to clients seeking fail-safe redundancy. Fire detection
and suppression systems ensure 24/7 protection of your critical systems.
Dual fire detection (photo electronic/ionization and sniffer) systems
and VESDA® fire alarm systems areinplace to constantly monitor for
any potential areas of concern. A multi-zone pre-action dry pipe suppression
system allows any suppression necessary to be contained to the affected
area; conditions elsewhere will not be disrupted.
